Help us support seafarers and their families worldwide

Seafarers lead tough and dangerous lives, and spend long periods away from their families with sometimes severely restricted shore leave. Welfare facilities and services both on board and ashore can be a lifeline.

We work to promote the welfare of seafarers worldwide, advocating on behalf of seafarers for better welfare services and facilities in ports and on board ships.

We also provide direct welfare services to seafarers and their families. Our 24-hour multilingual helpline, SeafarerHelp, runs every day of the year and is free to call from anywhere in the world. Our Regional Programme provides humanitarian support to seafarers and their families in India, the Philippines and Nigeria.

ISWAN supported over 33,000 seafarers and their families in 2021

We also administer a number of relief funds for seafarers and their families in dire need and those affected by piracy, and our projects include distribution of health information resources for seafarers worldwide.

Our work relies on charitable grants and donations and we need your help.
